Vineyard Notes

Sori Bricco meaning “sunny hillside” in Italian, is one of the pioneer vineyards in the AVA, planted in 1968. For many years, the vineyard was known as Pershing Vineyard and the grapes were sold to Sterling Winery and Stonegate Winery who used them for their Reserve Merlot and Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. In 1998, Lindy Johnson purchased the vineyard. The very talented Tony Mitchell Vineyard Management Company handles all of the farming. The vineyard is 15 acres in size, von Strasser contracts 6 acres consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon (2 acres), Merlot (2 acres), Petit Verdot (1 acre) and Malbec (1 acre).
